Those little kicks are doing more than you think. Baby Swim might look like songs, splashing, reaching and play. But there's a lot happening beneath the surface. Moving through water gives babies a completely different environment in which to use their bodies - kicking, reaching, balancing and coordinating movement against the gentle resistance of the water. It’s one of the reasons early swimming experiences can be about so much more than eventually learning a stroke. They’re about movement, coordination, confidence, connection and discovering what their little bodies can do. And, of course, beginning to make water a familiar and happy place. Superstar has always been about creating a love for water. But over the years, we’ve come to understand just how many different journeys into the water there are. The neurodivergent child who may experience and learn differently. And the adult who finally decides, “It’s time. I want to learn to swim.” Behind every one of those journeys is a real person, with their own confidence, excitement, anxiety, fear and goals. And that matters to us. Because what we do has never been just about teaching someone how to float, kick or perfect a stroke. It’s about understanding the person in front of us, meeting them where they are, and using experience, expertise and a whole lot of heart to help them move forward.
